If my blog doesn't arrive in 15 minutes, do I get a free extra topping on the next one?

One of the things about blogs--they have those dated entries. So the short of it is, I saw a rather old bus ad today, and wasn't paying attention to the advertising world last January when this was first launched as I learned from said dated blogs, but I still think it's interesting the at&t had a whole campaign that was "blogging delivered." And then for a while, their website had no results when one searched "blog," creating condescending hoopla, as well as confused hoopla. They've since remedied the situation with this rather fluffy article.

It strikes me as interesting, though, trying to use blogging as hip and trendy and dragging the "'underground' lifestyle" out into the harsh light of we-can-make-money-off-this-somehow-we-swear and that dirty word, "mainstream." The whole mainstreaming of countercultures, subcultures, and alternative lifestyles is rather intriguing, but perhaps this is not the forum for that discussion.

Back to blogs, the attempted diversification of telecommunication is [insert synonym of your choice for interesting & intriguing here. (My thesaurus, among other more practical but not quite right options, suggested "making bedroom eyes." Given that language sometimes just doesn't have the right word, I've always tended towards the absurd, myself)]. They've got a page on their new blog site that tries to put forth a definitive explanation of what blogs are which is [thesaurus] to say the least. (Part of the whole thesaurus thing is I don't have a particularly strong emotional response to this, it's more of a "huh" and I think it's worth our consideration, given the nature of this class. I find it wryly amusing when anyone tries to give forth a definitive explanation on anything, especially something that seems so organic to me.)

As for a completely different blog, enjoyable for no other reason but the distraction of its own absurdities, Overheard in New York, which is much what the title implies. People are often quite silly and if you can't laugh at them, and yourself when it's merited, then what's the point of being here?
