notes from Almost November
Hello, and welcome to the end of October. (And not a moment too soon, I might say, as one who had an insane October, but way, way too soon, as one who sees the end of the semester screaming up at us out of nowhere.)
A few issues that need attending to:
1. I did, last week sometime, finally get around to zipping and reposting the Moulthrop and Jackson texts that we weren't able to read; please do take a gander at them.
2. A few links to other electronic projects that have been mentioned in our readings: Nick Montfort's Winchester's Nightmare, a post-Zork work of interactive fiction that I found engaging, and that sheds a lot of light on his blending of "story," "game," "storygame," "novel," "world," etc. etc. etc. Also Stephanie Strickland's The Ballad of Sand and Harry Soot, which addresses a question we haven't really considered this semester: what of poetry?
3. As time is ticking away, we need to settle on what our readings will be for the "your suggested readings" week, November 27-29. What have you stumbled across that we all ought to read? What have you seen discussed that you're curious about? Please post your suggestions with the tag "suggested readings."
Anything else?
