A Number's Game

During the past couple of days, it’s been pretty hilarious in that commiserative, “I feel your panic/pain” sort of way, to check up on the away messages of my friends in this and the other blogging class and repeatedly see some variation on the theme of “-- out of 36.” Or in the really unfortunate cases, “- out of 36.”

That said, there’s a visibly productive side to this frantic game of catch up many of us are playing. Others have mentioned that reading and posting on this blog have been a very effective procrastination tool -- of late, I’d say that’s more true than it’s ever been before. The natural consequence of all the belated posting has been a sharp increase in blog activity, which means that hitting the refresh button virtually always reveals new posts/comments. While it’s ironic that this class blog would only really take off after class meetings are over, it’s been interesting to see what the blog might have looked like had all of us been posting all of the time.
