Blogmusik

|

Have any of you seen this before? Night Owl’s post on the slick new version of iTunes reminded me that I’d come across this application a little while ago and meant to blog about it. Basically, it’s a flash-based player with an interface designed to look just like one of the pretty new video iPods (you get to choose whether you want the black or the white model), and it offers an amazingly extensive library of FREE streaming content -- I was seriously impressed by how many of my requests it was able to come up with.

If you’re unregistered you can only search for and listen to one song at a time, but registered users can create and save playlists that Blogmusik stores for future listening. Other features: there’s Blogmusik’s Myspace page; Blogmusik’s very infrequently updated blog; and you can add Blogmusik search to your Firefox searchbar.

So yes, this is all pretty cool, but there’s one nagging question I can’t let go of, which is: aside from the fact of a blog that hasn’t been updated since August 3rd and has a grand total of four posts, what on earth is a flash-based, music streaming site doing giving itself a portmanteau of the “Blog______” model?
