So of course, after posting about "Generation Y", I had to go look it up on wikipedia... On the site they have a list of "major cultural events" that are associated with Generation Y, and I just thought I'd post it so that you guys can see if it seems accurate / enjoy it:

The Beanie Baby craze of the mid-to-late 1990's.
The intense popularity of Furby dolls towards the end of the 1990s, beginning in 1998.
A rise in electronic music with the use of samplers, drum machines, and computers as musical instruments. This lead to the development of such musical genres as techno, house, hip hop, trance, breakbeat, drum and bass, IDM, and many others.
The huge sales of bubblegum pop and boy bands in the late 1990s.
Depending on age within the cohort, the predominant use of one of several popular video game consoles, including the Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, (all also prevalent among late Generation Xers), followed by Nintendo 64, the Nintendo GameCube, Sony PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3, the Microsoft Xbox and Xbox 360, and Nintendo's Wii system.
The big Pokémon craze that happened in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The rise in popularity of online journals or Blogs in the early 2000s.
Surging use of Social Networking Websites such as MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Orkut and Friendster.com in the mid 2000s.
The rising use of MP3 players (especially iPod brand) in the early and mid 2000s.
The rise of the Hip-Hop, Indie and Emo culture

Thank you VERY, VERY much, from the bottom of my heart, for asking what Moon Shoes are. Because pretty much everything up to that point was pretty much "yeah, my little sister... yeah, my little sister..." and then suddenly the only possible response was "jeezus I'm old."

Moon shoes are amazing, they are like mini trampolines for your feet. Apparently you were supposed to feel like you were walking on the moon, I just had trouble walking in them because they were about 1923492825928 times the size of my foot and I fell every time I wore them.
