MS 190: Authorship is the course website for the Fall 2006 Media Studies senior seminar at Pomona College in Claremont, California.
well time is now running out on Wednesday, December 13th, and this will be my last blog entry for this course. I think there's a good chance that this will be my last blog ever.
The experience of keeping a blog is one that I'm glad I had, but I didn't really take full advantage of it. This can really be a great outlet for thoughts and ideas, and thoughts, and other things that happen in brains. Mostly I looked at the blog as a chore throughout the semester, but it should have been more than that. This blog could have been the greatest blog in all the land. Fables could have been written about this blog. This blog could have been the stuff of legend.
I think my biggest problem with the idea of a blog is that it's incredibly communist. We fought a war to make sure this technology wouldn't see the light of day. The problem is that if anyone can present their ideas on a level playing field, then anyone's ideas can be heard. This goes against the American ideal of my ideas being better than yours. In closing, I just want to apologize to any communists in the audience. I really wish I grew up in Central America in the 40s and I was friends with Fidel Castro. I think he's a real good guy who just got mixed up with the wrong crowd. It's sad, but these things happen. I love everybody. We should all get together 10 years from today and see how each other's lives have turned out. Goodbye friends and colleagues.
