Alice Stevens is a senior Media Studies major at Pitzer College on the Digital track. She grew up in beautiful Newburyport, Massachusetts, where her parents still live in the house she grew up in. Alice spent her four years of high school at a boarding school in Southborough, Massachusetts where she spent most of her time becoming thoroughly addicted to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (which included acting as the co-founder and president of the school's one-and-only Buffy Club). After graduating from college this spring Alice plans to stay in the Los Angeles area and hopefully find a job in television post-production. In the summer of 2006 Alice worked as a production assistant and personal assistant on the set of the Nickelodeon show Zoey 101. She subsequently became a Spears family apologist, having worked with the littlest Spears and her parents for three months. This semester she is interning at Herzog & Co.

Alice's interest in Media Studies was spurred by her obsessive personality and resulting involvement in television fandom from a young age. As soon as her family got the Internet, Alice was excited to network with other fans of her favorite TV show, since nobody she new in real life was as obsessed as her. At age 12 she taught herself HTML and created an entire website based on the WB television show Charmed, her favorite at the time. Her involvement in fandom gradually expanded to include using mailing lists, message boards, blogging, and finally going to conventions to meet fellow fans. (Alice has been to 18 pop-culture-related conventions and counting since she attended her first one in March 2004.) Alice also began to dabble in producing fan creations, such as graphics, fanfiction, and fanvids. Over the past few years Alice has been driven by vidding, to which she accredits her interest in professional video editing.

In 2002 Alice sold her soul to Joss Whedon and has never looked back (um, ask her about her tattoos). She firmly believes that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the most important cultural work of all time, and that along with Buffy, Whedon's Angel and Firefly and Ron Moore's re-imagined Battlestar Galactica are the best television shows ever. Period. However, Alice also greatly enjoys an array of other television shows, most notably Dexter, Friday Night Lights, Doctor Who, Grey's Anatomy, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, and Wonderfalls.

Alice swears by LiveJournal and will give you her username if you ask her very nicely. You can watch her videos at [1] or [2].
