i.t.s.

I love Pomona. And thank goodness for its Information Technology Services. But I feel that because it is considered one of the Top 20 Wired Colleges in the nation, it has overlooked its most basic service, the FAQ. I commented earlier on SariKayla’s “attached to our technology?” blog, describing how Pomona's Information Technology Services still has not updated their suggestion on computer necessity.

It is interesting that even ITS's question AND answer regarding computer usage is outdated (click "What kinds of things will I be using a computer for?"). However, this small matter leads to a larger issue - proof that the uses of the computer are moving at an extremely fast pace. It is hard to imagine that only a few years ago – let alone a few months ago – the computer was only generally used for papers, email, chat, and DVDs. And look at its uses now. Social networking, viral videos, this class...hey, this includes what you might have done within the last 24 hours.
