Such a simple game, one must throw a ball down a lane and hit ten pins down. There are ten "frames" each frame consists of two rolls. Knocking down all 10 pins on the first role results in a strike, while taking two rolls to knock down 10 pins results in a spare. The maximum possible score is 300 based on a somewhat complex scoring system where after a strike the next two balls count towards the frame the strike was rolled. In that way, it is possible to get 30 points per frame leading to 300 total points. A "perfect game", 300 points, requires 12 strikes in a row to accomplish. After a spare, the next roll counts toward the previous frame, allowing for a possible of 20 points to be collected in a frame with a spare.
