It's strange, but listening to Russ Hodges' voice yelling "The Giants win the pennant!" actually changes how I thought of him in the novel. It's just like when you watch a movie of one of your favorite books and it kind of ruins the book for you because it replaces all of the visualizations you had in your mind with movie images. The most interesting thing about this is that it relates right back to what we were talking about in class today, the idea that media shapes our associations and takes out the part we play in making our own connections and conclusions of historical events.
