schedule changes

Okay, so as I mentioned in class today, I've got to cancel class next Wednesday due to an emergency meeting I have to attend. I want to propose the following options:

1. We spend Monday, April 21, discussing Gibson and the secondary criticism as listed on the syllabus, but I order pizza and we stay until as close to 1.15 as we possibly can, so that both Monday's and Wednesday's groups can present on Monday, and we can finish with Gibson in one day.

2. We leave Monday's class just as it's currently scheduled, and instead extend class on Monday, April 28, spending the first chunk of class on Gibson before turning to Atwood. Pizza, ditto.

3. We find some time -- Friday, May 2? -- to schedule an extra class session. Probably a pizza-oriented enticement could be arranged.

I like option 1!

Anything with pizza sounds great! I personally have a Friday conflict at 12:00, so one of the Monday options might be better.

I'm fine with extending either Monday, and could make a Friday work in a pinch. Keep in mind, there will be admitted students again Monday the 21st, and rumor has it there are more of them the 21st than there were the 14th. This both means the dining halls will be insane, so pizza would be quite functional, but there also might be more prospies in class, which could complicate things.

Option 1 sounds awesome to me too. In fact, my preferences are in the order listed.

I, representing the collective group that was scheduled to present on Wednesday, go for Option 2.

Otherwise, I'm okay with either option. With two groups prepared to present, we'll probably have enough to talk about on Pattern Recognition for the extra hour. Then again, I'm sure monday's group wouldn't be so thrilled...

I'm compelled by two things above:

(a) the presence of the prospies on the 21st, which will definitely complicate the pizza-arrival scenario, and

(b) the desire of the second group of presenters not to have the due date for their presentation be made earlier.

So I'm going to suggest that we go with option 2 -- spend the first hour of class on the 28th with Gibson, and then turn to Atwood.

Please feel free to respond with problems or suggestions...

option 2 works great.
is there really no one who needs a reader? then can i please tag onto another pair? if that works for anyone let me know. thanks.

Option 2 works best for me since I have a commitment this coming Monday during lunch and have work all day Fridays.

I think option 2 makes the most sense also, one important thing for the presenting group is to be able to adapt their presentation to what Monday's group said so they don't simply repeat things, and doing that in the middle of class would be almost impossible. Option 2 seems to solve all the problems.

Would prefer option 2 or 3; speaking personally, my schedule is such that the extra time on April 21st would not be possible.

I think, especially with the prospies coming, that option 2 would work the best.

Option 2 would be ideal, Option 1 is workable if necessary.

option 2 is a-okay, boss.
