Bourgeoisie

From MarxWiki

Marx calls the class of people who own the means of production in a society - land, machines, and/or money - the bourgeoisie. This group he sees irredeemably in conflict with the other fundamental class of capitalist society, the proletariat. Under capitalism, the bourgeoisie aims to make an ever greater profit on the market. This will, in turn, motivate them to cut costs, which will result in the proletariat working longer hours, receiving the same or less hourly wage, and receiving little, if any, benefits from their employers. In a word, the bourgeoisie will inevitably exploit the proletariat as long as the former are able.
