Frankfurt School
From MarxWiki
A group of scholars and social theorists during the 1930s that worked first in Germany and later in the United States. They were interested in applying Marxist theory to the new forms of cultural production and the social life in 20th century capitalist societies. These scholars, such as Adorno, Benjamin, and Horkheimer, rejected Enlightenment philosophy as they believed that reason did not free people but instead became a force in the rise of technical expertise and in the exploitation of people, making systems of social domination more efficient and effective.
